Bathford Pre-School is located in the heart of Bathford village and has been providing the very best care to pre-school children for over 30 years.
Since 2001, the pre-school, a registered charity, is located in a well-designed, purpose built building in the grounds of Bathford Primary School and the close links to the school make an easy transition for those applying to go into Reception class at the school.
The building and surrounds
The light and spacious interior of the Pepperpot building is used creatively for a wide variety of activities to promote learning, including role play, art and collage, stories, music, singing, drama and baking. We encourage children to make their own decisions about their play so that they gain self-confidence and build up self-esteem. Directed and planned small group activities also ensure children make consistent progress in their individual social, physical and intellectual development. Each child is assigned a key worker who can provide one-to-one support and track each child’s individual progress.
Outside we have a fully enclosed garden area with a willow tunnel, lawn, sandpit, slides and ride-on toys. This is fully accessible to children all day. Children have fun planting bulbs and seeds as they learn how things grow. We also take them out to learn about their environment on trips in the village, to the library, to the woods, blackberry picking, conker collecting and to the local farm so they can see where their milk and food comes from. Children are always fully supervised and trips are planned in advance to ensure we meet Health and Safety requirements.
